I’m not usually one for inspirational quotes, but in the current lockdown situation it felt appropriate to design something positive. I actually woke up the other morning and thought of this caption, so figured I might as well create it. I’ve been thinking quite a lot about how to make something positive of the extra time at home, and doing more artwork seemed to be a pretty thing to be doing, as well as a good creative outlet for all the worrying feelings.
I intended for this to be a static piece, but whilst creating it in Procreate on my iPad, I had the idea of animating it. In Procreate, you can just turn on animation and every top level layer/group becomes a frame of animation. This is a very traditional approach with a simple timeline and onion skin preview against other frames, but keeps things nice and simple which is just how I like it. If you want something to happen, you simply have to draw it – no tweening, morphing or anything like that. Just old school frame animation. which allows you to do animation.
I used layer masks and a glitter effect to create the shiny letters. Hope you like it!
