Everyone seems to be looking for shortcuts, quick fixes, or schemes to get rich quick. I believe it’s much more satisfying to take your time and sometimes do things the long way round, especially when it comes to creating stuff. It’s about the journey right?
You also learn a lot more that way. It’s not always about the end result. Whenever I create something, the end result changes multiple times throughout the process anyway. Besides, having a blurry idea of what the final outcome will be makes it all the more satisfying when you get there.
I’ve never been particularly reckless, so thought I’d flip the well known ‘live fast, die young’ on its head to create a version that resonates with me. This is drawn by hand in Procreate for iPad. The brush system in Procreate feels the most natural to me and as close to real drawing as you can get. It’s fun slowly building up effects like the glitter using a dust brush.
